<idAbs>

This is a template polygon feature class used to delineate both deep- and shallow-seated landslide deposits using the methods described in the protocol. Only landslide deposits visible in lidar (light detection and ranging) derivative datasets should be delineated in this feature class, and no deposits inferred from aerial/orthoimagery, field reconnaissance, or other techniques should be included. This feature class only includes attribute fields the analyst can populate remotely. This feature class is part of a larger landslide inventory dataset for Washington State. Polygons in this feature class are related with polygons in the scarps_and_flanks feature class, and polylines in the scarps feature class, by using the LANDSLIDE_ID primary key field.

</idAbs>
<idPurp>This template feature class was produced to store attribute and spatial information on landslides in Washington State. Data added will be non-regulatory and intended for informational purposes. It may not be suitable for legal, engineering, forestry, or surveying purposes; but it is intended to assist planners, homeowners, regulators, and others by identifying areas to seek further geologic investigation in before developing, or areas to avoid. Users of this information should consider their intended application, and review or consult the accompanying documentation, to determine the usability of the data for themselves.</idPurp>
